![]() | The innovative Science and Engineering Week, Blood on the Kitchen Floor, devised by ECS PhD student Reena Pau, was instrumental in gaining the University a national award.Blood on the Kitchen Floor was one of the main attractions during the University's Science and Engineering Day, held on the Highfield Campus on Saturday 7 March. The event was devised and designed by Reena Pau, and featured actors from the Nuffield Theatre, who staged a reconstruction of the murder of a famous chef. The children and families who took part then had to solve clues in different University Engineering and Science labs in order to identify the murderer. ![]() Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship | Clare Hooper was a finalist prizewinner for the second year running in the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship and won a place to spend a week at Google's centre in Zurich for a networking retreat. |
![]() | The interactive video and associated paper 'Risk Assessment Education: Utilising Interactive Video for Teaching Health and Safety' by Joseph Price, Dr Tom Cherrett, Sarah Maynard, Dr Gary Wills, and Dr Itiel Dror was submitted for the Dorup E-learning award at Eunis 2008. The paper and project demonstration came joint second out of 14 applications. |
